Our high quality, 767 hour program provides the professional training and internship experience necessary to begin a successful career in the medical field. Modules are designed to incorporate qualified medical training taught by industry professionals with computer, customer service and job application skills. The student will receive training in all skills needed to work in a doctor's office, hospital, or other medical facility. |

- Medical Training Overview:

Medical Terminology:
- This module will introduce the student to 10,000 medical words in addition to medical prefixes and suffixes. This course is taught through video presentations in combination with classroom instruction to emphasize the lessons. At completion students will be able to identify medical terminology enabling them to transcribe documents, as well as understand patient information in medical files.
- Human Anatomy:
- This module will give students an understanding of the human body and its functions.
- Basic Pharmacology:
- Students will learn the most common medications used for high blood pressure, heart conditions, and other ailments that are most commonly treated by physicians.
- Laboratory Procedures:
- Students will be taught the most common procedures used in the medical field and will be able to competently complete those tests.
- Medical Manager:
- This is a software package that is used in the medical field. Students will input ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes; as well as HCPCS. They will also schedule appointments and process reimbursements.
- Third Party Billing:
- Students will be instructed in coding practices such as CPT and ICD-9 procedures.
- Phlebotomy:
- This is hands on training that will take place in a medical lab. The individual will receive all the requirements necessary to sit for the national board exam. Upon completion of their class students will be placed on a three-week training clinical assignment for a total of 120 hours. During their clinical experience they must draw 100 collections and 25 finger sticks.
- EKG/CPR:
- In this module students are instructed in the proper method of performing the EKG procedure. CPR training is also mandatory.
- Clinical Skills:
- The student will be introduced to the medical field with hands-on experience with medical equipment such as: stethoscopes, blood pressure units, and thermometers.
